Customer Service Representative
The Customer Service Representative is responsible for providing excellent service and support to customers by managing inquiries, processing orders, and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner. This role serves as a primary point of contact between the company and its customers and plays a key role in maintaining satisfaction, accuracy, and efficiency. This is a Contract to Hire opportunity located in Elgin, IL.
Key Responsibilities- Respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, and other communication channels in a professional and courteous manner.
- Process customer orders, quotes, returns, and credits accurately and in accordance with company procedures.
- Track order status, shipment details, and delivery timelines, providing updates to customers as needed.
- Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date customer records within ERP or CRM systems.
- Resolve customer issues and complaints by researching solutions and coordinating with internal teams.
- Support sales and operations teams through administrative assistance and customer follow‑up.
- Assist with invoicing, pricing updates, and basic accounting data entry as required.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, customer requirements, and service standards.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
- 1–3 years of customer service or related experience in an office, manufacturing, distribution, or service environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer‑focused mindset.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Experience with ERP, CRM, or order management systems preferred.
- Contract to Hire
- 100% onsite
- Pay $20–$25 an hour, depending on experience
