The Customer Service Representative Floater will work on a PRN basis, weighing trucks in and out and grading grain. The role also includes routine clerical duties such as typing, filing, and supporting office operations. The position is located in Elgin and currently has one opening.
Leadership- Promote an environment focused on the mission and core values of Nexus.
- Model behaviors that support Nexus mission and core values, serving as a trusted advisor to customers and members.
- Use a personal vehicle for business travel within a 30‑mile radius and maintain a valid driver’s license; mileage is reimbursed at the current IRS rate.
- Interact with customers via telephone, email, or in person to provide support and information on products or services.
- Field customer questions and complaints, escalating issues beyond knowledge to the appropriate team member.
- Ensure appropriate actions are taken to resolve customer problems and concerns.
- Perform clerical duties such as typing, filing, and completing forms.
- Weigh trucks inbound and outbound.
- Grade grain to apply appropriate discounts.
- Operate office equipment including copiers, scanners, phone and voicemail systems, personal computers, and other standard office equipment.
- Answer phones, direct calls to appropriate individuals, and prepare messages.
- Copy, sort, and file records related to office activities and business transactions.
- Sort incoming mail and deliver to appropriate departments or individuals; process outgoing mail.
- Maintain filing systems, either manually or electronically.
- Manage calendars and schedule appointments.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Customer service/office clerical experience required.
- Ability to type at least 45 words per minute.
- Service‑oriented and able to resolve customer grievances.
- Proficient computer skills with the ability to learn new software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Regularly required to talk or hear.
- Frequently required to use hands or fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms.
- Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
