Inside Sales Representative

Sterling Engineering is looking for an Inside Sales Representative for a growing client in Elgin, IL. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established, growing organization and play a key role in supporting customers while driving business growth.

Job Duties:

• Respond to customer inquiries and requests for quotations in a timely manner.
• Review customer requirements and prepare accurate quotes based on company procedures.
• Work closely with Sales Managers to develop pricing strategies and customer solutions.
• Communicate directly with customers to clarify specifications and resolve quotation discrepancies.
• Process customer purchase orders and enter orders into the ERP system.
• Provide order acknowledgments and ensure contract dates and order details are accurate.
• Support customers using purchasing portals and online ordering systems.
• Coordinate with Quality to resolve customer claims and non-conforming product issues.
• Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships while delivering exceptional customer service.
• Collaborate with internal departments to ensure customer satisfaction and achieve company goals.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree or coursework preferred.
• Previous inside sales or customer service experience, preferably within the metals or manufacturing industry.
• Lean Manufacturing knowledge is a plus.
• Experience preparing quotations and processing customer orders.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Willingness to travel occasionally as needed.
