Overview
Elementary ESY School
Location:
Creekside Elementary (PK-5). Summer school occurs Monday through Friday with no school on June 19, 2026 to celebrate the Juneteenth holiday. Staff must be available on all days during the summer school sessions.

Dates: 06/01/2026 - 07/01/2026 (Monday-Thursday)
Staff hours: 7:45 am to 11:45 am
Student School day: 08:00 am - 11:30 am
Summer School Rate: $46.20 (with TRS)

Responsibilities- To work with parents, students, and staff in order to prevent, identify, evaluate and remediate a wide range of oral communication problems, including articulation, voice, fluency and language disorders.
- Prevention consultation, including in service training and speaking with parents and parent groups.
- Identification pre referral (student support teams), screenings, and referrals for the evaluation process.
- Assessment utilizing data collection through standardized or non-standardized measures, interpretation, report writing, sharing results with parents and staff, determining eligibility for services, and developing IEPs.
- Intervention through caseload management (scheduling), direct remediation within the educational setting, pull out services, consulting on academic and social issues, developing ongoing goals, documenting progress, collaborating with classroom teachers, and holding review meetings.
- Complete caseload records for special education funding as requested.
- Maintain student IEPs and evaluations on web based computer program.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Speech and Language Pathologist (Teaching or Non-Teaching) PK-Age 22 or K-Age 22 endorsement.
- Illinois Department of Professional Regulation Speech Language Pathologist License.
- Master's degree or higher in Speech Language Pathology
- Background in speech and language
- Occasionally requires physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull, or push objects or materials up to 30 lbs. with proper technique.
- This is a temporary position. Salary and benefits as established by the Board of Education.
- U-46 reserves the right to terminate the position by the third day of student attendance if a minimum number of students do not register or enroll.
