STEM Instructor

Role Overview

The STEM Instructor is responsible for supervising students, delivering instruction, and creating a safe, fun, and dynamic learning environment. They serve as a positive role model and provide constructive feedback, implement curriculum, and work collaboratively with fellow Activity Specialists.

• Supervise and instruct students in STEM subjects, ensuring a safe and engaging environment.
• Implement STEM lessons tailored to students aged 4 to 18 with varying skill levels.
• Promote fundamental STEM skills to enhance students’ knowledge and proficiency.
• Manage group behavior, health and safety, security, and personal skill development.
• Organize and prepare daily plans in a creative manner.
• Apply effective classroom management skills to foster an inclusive, fun atmosphere.
• Collaborate with fellow Activity Specialists on daily responsibilities.
• Serve as a positive role model and uphold the Impact Kids Code of Conduct and Core Values.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience working with children (e.g., academic/athletic tutoring, camp counselor, youth volunteer); 1–5 years in teaching STEM-related subjects preferred.
• High-energy, positive demeanor with a genuine passion for influencing children’s lives through engaging STEM activities.
• Excellent communication skills with children, parents, peers, and leadership, capable of clear, concise, and grammatically correct written and oral language.
• Child abuse clearance and criminal background checks are required.

• Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.

• Must be willing to travel.
• Ability to respond to emergency situations that may require running and climbing stairs.
• Physical condition sufficient to execute all responsibilities associated with the position.
