Benefits are in accordance with the agreement between Forest Ridge School District 142 and the FREA Union.
Sick Leave Days per School Year:
- 0-9 years of service: 13 days
- 10-15 years of service: 14 days
- 16-20 years of service: 15 days
- 21+ years of service: 16 days
Accumulation of Sick Leave Days: Unlimited
Personal Business Leave Days per School Year: 2 days (unused days added to accumulated sick leave)
Health Insurance: Premium increases or decreases split 70% to the Board and 30% to the employee. Employees who elect not to participate receive up to $1,300.00 per year.
Dental Insurance: Teachers may elect to participate in the District's group dental insurance plan. Participation is 100% paid by the employee.
Vision Insurance: Employee pays 100% of monthly premium costs.
Life Insurance: Full‑time certified teachers receive a $20,000 term life insurance policy under the District program.
Compensation for Accumulated Sick Days upon Retirement: See Section 12.7.2 of the FREA Agreement.
Tuition Reimbursement: See Section 12.1 of the FREA Agreement.
