Position Information
Position: Part‑time Before and After School Care Program Assistant – Benefit Ineligible
Location: St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic School, Romeoville

Position PurposeThe candidate must have a positive attitude and serve as a role model to participants in the program. Before and After School Care Program staff must enjoy working with school‑aged children and teens.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Ensuring safety of all children in the program
- Signing children upon arrival and out when they leave
- Creating an enriching, fun, and safe environment
- Planning activities for children of all ages
- Interacting positively with children and their families
- Working independently as well as with a team
- Performing other related tasks as assigned by the principal or pastor
- A high school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Candidates must be at least 16 years old
- Protecting God's Children Certificate and Background Check required
- A background in education and/or college coursework in recreation education is a plus but not required
- Childcare experience with children of all ages preferred but not required
- Other training may be required after employment begins
- Before school: 7:00 AM on regular school days when school is in session
- After school: 2:15‑6:00 PM on regular school days when school is in session
$15.00–$22.00. Final hourly rate will be determined by relevant years of experience in a similar job combined with education and professional licensure.
Paid personal leave days.
Physical AbilitiesWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee may frequently be required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, see, feel with hands, reach with arms, walk up or down multiple flights of stairs, and be physically able to perform duties as assigned, including the ability to lift up to 20–30 pounds if needed. Works in standard office and school building environments but also has ability to work outdoors during outdoor student activities.
