We’re partnering with a wonderful school district in Cook County, ILto hire a compassionate and student-centered School Social Worker for the  school year.

In this role, you will support students of all ages with Autism Spectrum Disorder by addressing social, emotional, behavioral, and mental health needs, partnering with families and school staff to remove barriers to learning and promote student success within the school community.

  • Location: In-person in Cook County, IL (no remote or hybrid options available)
  • Start Date: August 2026
  • End Date: May 2027
  • Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday
Responsibilities
  • Provide individual and group counseling services to students of all ages to support social, emotional, and behavioral development.
  • Conduct social-emotional and behavioral assessments and contribute to IEP and 504 plan development.
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to implement intervention strategies and positive behavior supports.
  • Support crisis intervention, conflict resolution, and attendance improvement initiatives.
  • Consult with families to connect them with school and community-based resources.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and comply with state, federal, and district regulations.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to a supportive, inclusive school climate.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited program.
  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Social Worker endorsement.
  • Experience working with students in a school setting, particularly students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of child development, social-emotional learning, and behavioral interventions.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
