Part-time Professional English Tutor

Southeastern Illinois College is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Professional English Tutor to support students in developing their academic English skills. This part‑time position is up to 20 hours per week with flexible scheduling based on student needs and availability. This part‑time role involves working closely with students to enhance writing, reading, and communication abilities in a supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one and small group tutoring sessions in English
• Assist students with writing, grammar, reading comprehension, and study strategies
• Support academic success through personalized instruction and feedback
• Maintain a professional and encouraging learning atmosphere
• Adapt tutoring approaches to meet diverse student needs, including online support when applicable

• Bachelor’s degree required;
  Master’s degree preferred but not required
• Minimum of two (2) years of prior teaching experience preferred but not required
• Experience teaching in an online environment preferred but not required
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively with a diverse student population

• This position would not start until August 17, 2026.

$20/hour
