Position:
Teacher’s Assistant / Paraprofessional (TA) for the Life Skills Program at Marklund Day School in Geneva, IL.

Hours:

8:15 AM – 3:15 PM, Monday–Friday.

• Assist teachers with classroom instruction and support students with special needs.
• Provide direct care and attend in‑services and other educational functions as required.
• Maintain classroom equipment and ensure a safe physical environment.
• Document progress and maintain daily participation records as part of the Individualized Education Program (IEP).
• Work one‑on‑one and with small groups of students in accordance with IEP goals.
• Complete required PCM (behavior management) training.

• Illinois Paraprofessional Educator license required; at least a high‑school diploma or GED necessary.
• Ability to perform essential job functions and meet functional and environmental requirements.
• Preferred: 0–2 years Paraprofessional experience in a school setting; a higher salary is offered for those with more experience.
• Comfortable working with students ages 3–21 with medical, developmental, and physical disabilities.

Hourly pay for Life

Skills:

$20.00 (no experience) to $22.50 (5 + years). For candidates with a Bachelor's Degree: $21.00 to $23.50.
