Position: Early Childhood Lab School Assistant (Part-Time)

Work Schedule:

6 hours per day between the hours of 8am and 5pm.

Rate of Pay:

This is a Part-Time Support Staff position at grade 9, with an hourly pay rate of $16.81 to $19.37. The offer will be based on education and experience, in alignment with the College’s compensation philosophy and the current Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), if applicable.

Job Summary:

An employee in this classification performs work of routine difficulty by providing child care services and completing required documentation. Work is distinguished by the ability to provide a safe environment . Work is performed under direct supervision of the manager and/or director.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Child care experience and knowledge of child development.
  • The ability to communicate with children and parents.
Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • A working knowledge of Department of Children and Family Services licensing standards and center policies.
Essential Duties:
  • Establish and maintain direct supervision of the children to ensure a safe and developmentally appropriate environment at all times.
  • Maintain a safe, clean environment to foster learning and development.
  • Provide routine care for children of different ages.
  • Assist with completing required documentation.
  • Assist in classroom and materials preparation.
Other Duties:
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned which pertain to the job description.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule which includes days/evenings/weekends as needed by the department.
