Position: School Psychologist [83258]

Onward Education is a specialized education staffing and talent solutions company that helps educators, therapists, and school health professionals find top jobs with the nation's top schools. We’re partnering with a school district in Cook County, Illinois to hire dedicated School Psychologists for the 2026–2027 school year. This is an on-site contract opportunity (approximately 35 hours/week) supporting student evaluation, intervention planning, and campus-based collaboration.

In this role, you’ll support students’ academic, social-emotional, and behavioral success through assessments, counseling/interventions, and consultation with educators and families.

  • Location:

    In-person (On-site), ~35 hours/week
  • Schedule:

    Full-time or part-time hours; specific days/hours are flexible
  • School Year: 2026/2027
Responsibilities:
  • Conduct psycho educational assessments (cognitive, academic, behavioral, and social-emotional) to identify student strengths/needs and inform eligibility and services.
  • Write clear evaluation reports and present findings to school teams and families in an accessible, supportive way.
  • Provide individual and/or group counseling and targeted interventions to address social-emotional, behavioral, and mental health needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and related service providers to develop classroom strategies, behavior supports, and intervention plans.
  • Participate in IEP and 504 processes, including consultation, data review, and progress monitoring to support student outcomes.
  • Support crisis response efforts and contribute to school-wide prevention initiatives (e.g., SEL, trauma-informed practices, positive behavior supports).
Qualifications:
  • Active Illinois School Psychologist License (or ability to obtain promptly, per district requirements).
  • Active PEL (Professional Educator License) with the appropriate School Psychologist endorsement.
  • Experience conducting school-based evaluations and contributing to IEP/504 decision-making in a K–12 setting.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills with multidisciplinary teams, families, and school leadership.
  • Ability to manage caseload priorities, timelines, and documentation with professionalism and attention to detail.
