Function / Position SummaryToprovideindividualizedinstructionin aco-teachingenvironmentasmandatedbyastudent'sIEP. This position will be required to collaborate and plan instruction with the classroom teacher on a regular and ongoing basis in order to accelerate student progress towards meeting their goals.
Job Duties / Responsibilities- Developandfosterapositiverelationshipwitheachstudentandtheirparent/guardian.
- ProvidedirectservicesandinstructionasmandatedbytheIEP.
- Completediagnosticcomponentsdeterminedondomainssheet.
- Enterdiagnosticinformationintodata-basedscreensandcreateahardcopyofthe diagnostic report.
- Sharedresponsibilityfortestingstudentsasdeterminedby School Service Team discussion.
- Participate in School Service Teamand IEPmeetings.
- CompleteallrequiredIEPpaperworkinatimelymanner.
- Completedata-basedscreensforannualreviews/re-evaluationsforcaseloadstudents.
- Create,overseeandupdatedatadrivengoalsandobjectivesbasedonstudentneeds, grade level, and state standards for caseload students.
- Monitorcaseloadforannualreviewandre-evaluationdates.
- OverseethatallservicesonanIEPare implemented.
- Teachanysubjectareaorgradelevelconsistingof studentsoncaseload,using best practice strategies and District directed curriculum and programs.
- Differentiate,accommodateormodifyinstructionandcurriculumaccordingtoeach student's individual learning profile.
- Participate in Professional Learning Communitieswithgeneraleducationcolleaguesfor planning for CORE instruction, co-teaching models/strategies, modifications and assessments.
- Analyzestudentperformanceinrelationtogradelevelpeersinordertodeterminea student's appropriate needs and opportunities for mainstreaming and co-teaching.
- Implementdistrict,building,classroomandIEPdirectedbehaviorplanssuchasPBIS, Functional Behavior Plans and Behavior Intervention Plans.
- Administrationofclassroom,districtandstateassessment.
- Ongoingcollaborationandcommunicationwithparents.
- Attendschoolprofessionaldevelopment.
- PerformotherrequirementsofthejobinaccordancewiththeETAcollectivebargaining agreement.
- Illinois Teaching Certificate with LBS1endorsement.
- Bachelor'sdegreeinrelatedsubjectfromaccrediteduniversity
- Previousexperiencein Special Educationpreferredbutnotnecessaryforhire .
- Bilingual-Spanish/English Certification (Required for Bilingual positions only)
- Knowledgeofcommoncorestandards.
- Knowledge of Elementary Dual Languagecurriculum . (Required for Bilingual positions only)
- Knowledge of instructional and resource programs for students with a variety of special education eligibility
- Requiresprolongedsittingorstanding.
- Occasionallyrequiresphysicalexertiontomanuallymove, lift,carry,pull,orpushheavyobjects or materials.
- Occasional stooping,bending,and reaching.
- Thisisa9-month position.
- Salaryandbenefitsasestablishedbythe Boardof Education.
- The starting salary for this role is $60,689.
