Systems Engineer

We are seeking an OT & Automation Engineer (based in Elgin, Illinois) to partner with global and regional counterparts on the implementation of new digital solutions in the field of IIOT/SC/OT. Reporting to the Regional Digitalization and Automation Lead, the Digital Manufacturing Engineer will drive MES topics in the region and translate requirements from manufacturing operations into projects to improve the Manufacturing Execution System.

We partner directly with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and Distribution partners for standard products, designed-in value-added products, and Product Development initiatives.
- Experience managing technical projects; including requirements, budgets, timelines, and changes.
- Proven track record of utilizing technology to drive manufacturing improvements, with knowledge of manufacturing processes such as planning, execution, logistics, and reporting.
- Ability to lead workshops with sites and key stakeholders to understand and document complex manufacturing requirements.
- Experience developing, deploying, and supporting manufacturing systems; specifically, MES. Includes other systems such as QMS, PLCs, SCADA, Data Historians, CMMS, and computer vision.
- Experience working with SQL databases, writing complex queries, stored procedures, functions, and triggers.
- Experience in OT integration technologies and standards including OPC and/or MQTT.
- Experience designing and developing cloud-based data analytics and reports.
- Experience working with OPC servers and data tags.
- Experience integrating OT systems with enterprise solutions using REST API and similar.
- Expertise with common OT programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, C# and/or other languages.
- Perform other duties as assigned. Travel up to 10%.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or Industrial Technology.
- 3-5 years of progressive manufacturing experience supporting operations technology.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate requirements into actionable projects.
- Compensation:
Base salary and bonus eligibility; example range $80,000 - $100,000, commensurate with experience and location. - Bonus:
Eligible for a 5% discretionary annual bonus. - Benefits:
