Located in Elgin, IL, this growing industrial automation operation is seeking an Industrial Automation Technician to support advanced automation systems in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This contract role (quarter-to-quarter, currently approved through 7/3/2026) focuses on maintaining, troubleshooting, and commissioning robotic and computer-controlled production systems on 1st shift (6:00 AM – 2:15 PM).

This opportunity offers hands‑on exposure to complex robotics, automation controls, and cross‑functional engineering collaboration. If you enjoy solving technical challenges, working closely with production and engineering teams, and making a direct impact on uptime and process improvements, this role provides strong long‑term potential, with extensions up to two years based on performance and business needs.

Contract Duration

Through 7/3/2026 – Potential Extension up to 24 Months

Required Skills & Experience
  • 2–4 years of experience in an industrial automation or technician role
  • Associate’s Degree in Automation Technology, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • Strong understanding of electronics, mechanics, computers, and automated systems
  • Experience with automation software and control systems
  • Ability to troubleshoot using schematics, diagrams, and manufacturer documentation
  • Experience with motion sensors, control components, pneumatic devices, and photosensors
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs unassisted and 50 lbs assisted
  • Ability to work in a safety‑sensitive environment (full‑panel drug test required)
Desired Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Automation Technology, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • Experience installing and commissioning robotic systems
  • Background supporting TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) programs
  • Experience performing automation programming adjustments
  • Experience with root cause analysis and corrective action documentation
