Quality Engineer

Responsibilities

• Working with multiple levels of Elgin Sweeper to investigate and analyze quality problems, recommend solutions and implement corrective actions.
• Assures effective systems, validations, and controls are established and maintained to transition new products and technologies from development to operational environment.
• Establish robust, sustainable systems to ensure corrective and preventive measures are systematically implemented, monitored, and controlled and meet our ISO 9001 requirements.
• Create/Evaluate, communicate and process appropriate Engineering Change Notices to reflect quality related changes in the production process.
• Develop and maintain work instructions for assigned areas.
• Perform in-station assembly audits by comparing work instructions to assembly process to ensure appropriate equipment, tooling and parts are being followed/utilized.
• Investigate and make recommendations on the procurement of equipment to improve the manufacture of Elgin Products.
• Lead process improvement projects utilizing lean principles to implement change as a leader, participant and initiator.
• Develop, modify, apply and maintain quality standards and protocols.
• Creates and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and product equipment.
• Designs and/or specified inspection and testing mechanism and equipment.
• Conduct quality assurance tests.
• Flexibility to perform other duties and assignments as required.

• Bachelors Degree in Engineering
• 2+ years of quality engineering experience
• Experience in production environment
• Knowledge of basic engineering principles, theories, and concepts
• Possesses strong verbal and written communications skills
• Ability to develop relationships to allow for delivery of constructive feedback and/or corrections.
