Join HARTING! A leader in connectivity products and custom solutions… We are seeking a Compliance Engineer to join our growing Product Development department. The primary responsibility is to own and drive compliance activities on a wide‑variety of HARTING related products and solutions. The Compliance Engineer will work with the design, development, and innovation teams to understand the appropriate standards and requirements as well as perform risk analysis on proposed designs and drive the submittal process at the appropriate regulatory body.
HARTING aims to be a trusted advisor to HARTING customers and positions itself as the go‑to source expert for industrial connectivity solutions. We partner directly with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and Distribution partners for standard product, designed‑in value‑added products, and Product Development initiatives.
Responsibilities- Achieve product and engineering compliance by developing and executing compliance programs and completing documentation.
- Interact with regulatory agencies to facilitate projects, track changes, address compliance questions and issues.
- Analyze and evaluate new product constructions for compliance risks within the appropriate standards.
- Be responsible for interfacing with regulatory agencies to understand what standards apply to what products.
- Research, identify, and develop expertise on applicable regulatory and industry compliance standards and codes.
- Organize compliance programs by preparing timetables, cost estimates, and required resources, including test laboratories and equipment.
- Document compliance by completing approval applications, recording test results, preparing investigative reports, preparing and filing Declarations of Conformity, and maintaining compliance database.
- Update job knowledge by tracking and understanding emerging compliance engineering practices and standards, participating in educational opportunities and professional organizations, reading professional publications, and maintaining personal networks.
- Other duties and ad hoc projects may be assigned as customer requirements dictate some of the day‑to‑day activities of this role and the team.
- BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or similar field.
- 3+ years UL regulatory compliance experience.
- Knowledge of UL, CSA, CE requirements and processes.
- Experience certifying new products.
- Experience interacting with customers, regulatory agencies, test labs, etc.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Knowledge of UL1977, UL2875, UL6182, UL508, UL817 and related codes.

- Compensation: HARTING's Total Compensation Structure includes a Base Salary and Bonus Percentage. Competitive base salary: $90,000 - $120,000 (commensurate with experience, subject to change dependent on physical location). This role is eligible for a 5% discretionary annual bonus.
