Seeking Safety Engineering Intern for Summer 2026
Location:
Elgin, Hampshire, Sycamore, and Bellwood
The Safety Engineering Intern supports the company EHS program to protect and enhance workplace safety and will assist the EHS Manager on specific projects in that support.
Responsibilities- Conduct annual confined space audits.
- Conduct annual hazardous chemical inventory audit.
- Conduct annual lockout tagout procedure audits.
- Observe operations, review and revise Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) to identify potential hazards and define control measures and safe work practices.
- Other duties as may be assigned.
- Upper classman undergraduate, recent graduate, or graduate student in Industrial Engineering or Technology, Industrial Management, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- Self-starter, team player, ability to work independently.
- Passion for safety and desire to make a difference.
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Strong (verbal, written, interpersonal) communications skills.
- Strong time management skills.
- Abilities to organize, prioritize, and complete tasks to meet deadlines.
- Positive “can do” attitude.
- Attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
