Opportunity:
Seeking Safety Engineering Intern for Summer 2026

Location:

Elgin, Hampshire, Sycamore, and Bellwood

The Safety Engineering Intern supports the company EHS program to protect and enhance workplace safety and will assist the EHS Manager on specific projects in that support.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct annual confined space audits.
  • Conduct annual hazardous chemical inventory audit.
  • Conduct annual lockout tagout procedure audits.
  • Observe operations, review and revise Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) to identify potential hazards and define control measures and safe work practices.
  • Other duties as may be assigned.
Education
  • Upper classman undergraduate, recent graduate, or graduate student in Industrial Engineering or Technology, Industrial Management, Electrical Engineering, or related field.

  • Self-starter, team player, ability to work independently.
  • Passion for safety and desire to make a difference.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Strong (verbal, written, interpersonal) communications skills.
