Solutions Engineer Intern

We are seeking a Solutions Engineer based in Elgin, IL (Northwest of Chicago) to blend their interests in technical and strategic aspects of engineering. Join and support HARTING’s North America distribution channel team and its distribution partners as a product and application expert!

HARTING's Intern Development Program (Summer 2026) consists of full-time, paid, and on-site internships. Our internships are an opportunity to work on hands‑on projects with your team, to work cross‑functionally with other departments, and gain exposure to the technical aspects of our company.

Please note:

we do not provide housing in Illinois.

For technical intern roles, pay ranges from $22–25 per hour, commensurate with student's class standing and experience.

• Creation of internal and external product and application training materials
• Identification of new applications and customers for HARTING products and solutions
• Competitive research and SWOT analysis to gain knowledge about the competition
• Creation and updates of HARTING competition cross reference data
• Cross‑functional collaboration with areas such as sales, marketing, engineering, product management, industry segment management and HARTING distribution channel partners
• Support of New Product Introductions within HARTING’s distribution network
• Creation of product stocking packages to support HARTING product sales through key distribution channel partners
• Close collaboration with the Solutions Engineer
• Other duties as assigned

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer or Mechanical Engineering
• A background/interest in Engineering and sales
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
• Excellent problem‑solving skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Ability to define problems, collect data and draw valid conclusions
