I'm working with an elite HFT firm in Chicago hiring a Principal HPC Engineer to own and evolve their high-performance compute infrastructure.

They need a senior HPC engineer to take the lead on compute infrastructure that directly underpins live trading and research operations.

• Leading the design, build, and optimisation of HPC infrastructure supporting trading and quant research workloads
• Owning cluster management and job scheduling — Slurm and similar tooling at scale
• Deep Linux systems engineering — performance tuning, kernel optimisation, and low-level diagnostics
• Driving automation and tooling to monitor, maintain, and continuously improve HPC environments
• Partnering directly with trading and research teams — your infrastructure decisions have a direct line to performance

• Strong HPC engineering background with hands-on Linux expertise at a deep level
• Proven Slurm experience — cluster management, job scheduling, and optimisation at scale
