AISIN Electronics is looking for a qualified Production Engineer to join the team!
SUMMARYThe Production Engineer at AISIN Electronics IL provides technical leadership and support to manufacturing operations with a focus on reducing downtime, improving efficiency, and supporting new equipment and product launches. This role drives continuous improvement, ensures safety and quality compliance, and collaborates across departments to meet production and cost reduction goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Lead the reduction of unplanned downtime for mass production and new equipment.
- Lead continuous improvement for mass production and new equipment.
- Lead the manufacturing feasibility of design changes and new designs.
- Implement engineering changes based on drawing revisions and maintain the most current drawings for each product.
- Reduce waste and drive cost reduction activities including overproduction, muda, gourika, M0 / S 1/2, and other non-value-added work.
- Oversee new equipment installation and process preparation, including the creation of the schedule, PPP & PPS, PFMEA, PV41 and PV42 activities.
- Track all NG activity and implement countermeasures.
- Ensure production rates and machine cycle times meet company targets.
- Ensure on‑time delivery of equipment necessary to support new product launches.
- Plan, procure, and manage facility resources.
- Maintain equipment maintenance and repair (mechanical and electrical).
- Develop and document training for manufacturing equipment and processes.
- Implement cost‑reduction and continuous improvement actions to build a quality product at lowest possible cost.
- Ensure plant and OSHA safety requirements, production utilization goals, and facilities support are met through proper maintenance planning.
- Coordinate with other sections to meet all requirements for the 3‑Pillar Program.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure EPA compliance.
- Meet department budget requirements.
- Perform all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards.
- Perform other reasonably related tasks within the company as required by the supervisor or management.

- Knowledge of electronic automotive manufacturing.
- Knowledge of the Toyota Production System and JIT.
- Electrical engineering knowledge.

$76,250 - $90,250 Annually
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED- Bachelor of Science (BSC or BEng) in engineering or engineering technology.
- Degree awarded by a university with H.L.C. and A.B.E.T. accreditation.
- Acceptable engineering or engineering technology degrees:
Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Control, Computer Engineering, Electro‑mechanical, Manufacturing, Aerospace, Automotive, Mechatronics, Robotics Engineering, and Systems. - 5+ years of prior applicable experience in manufacturing.
- Electronics experience desired.
- Automotive experience desired.
- Valid passport for travel.
- Solid Works or other CAD drawing software experience preferred.
All other AEIL departments and various outside vendors and customers.
WORK ENVIRONMENT- Dust, noise, oils, greases, grinding debris, compressed air, metal shavings, propane, solvents, and occasional heavy lifting.
- Potential exposure to hazardous machinery and/or conditions that could result in injury up to and including a fatality if safety measures are not followed.
- Typical manufacturing areas requiring personal protective equipment such as safety shoes and safety glasses.
- Open staff room with constant activity and interaction with cross‑functional divisions, departments, and sections; must handle task changes at a moment’s notice.
