Senior Project Electrical Engineer Job Description

As a Senior Project Electrical Engineer at Envista Forensics, you will serve as the lead engineer in forensic investigations related to electrical incidents and failures.

• Investigate electrical failures, defects, or damage in industrial, commercial, and residential settings.
• Determine causes of electrical system failures and evaluate design/construction quality or maintenance procedures.
• Lead field investigations and document property damage for multi‑party examinations.
• Collaborate on large, complex projects within multidisciplinary teams.
• Research failure modes and provide repair or remediation recommendations.
• Prepare reports and correspondence detailing the cause of damage for clients.
• Provide deposition and expert testimony in product liability for civil, federal, and occasional criminal court cases.

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or an equivalent discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical engineering field.
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of employment or the ability to obtain one within 12 months.
• Willingness to travel to client sites (25‑30%) and work in diverse environmental conditions.
• Familiarity with forensic investigation practices and principles (preferred).
• At least 5 years of experience evaluating electrical failures in commercial or industrial settings (preferred).
• Knowledge of power systems including generators, transformers, and switch gear (a plus).
• Electro‑mechanical experience desirable.
• Experience interacting with lawyers, insurance companies, and adjusters (preferred).
