Process Engineering is a group within the manufacturing engineering and quality team supporting the entire manufacturing operation.
Job DescriptionIn this role of Process and Quality Engineer, you will:
- Actively interface with many facets of manufacturing including cost, quality, throughput, introduction of new products, and support organizations.
- Identify and lead quality and process improvements by applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials.
- Responsible for resolving daily production related quality issues by using data analysis methods relevant to the manufacturing process.
- Interface with other MSI teams that address quality, new product introduction, capacity issues, purchasing, and planning.
- Validates packaging systems using various testing protocols
- Analyze data by completing hypothesis, normal distribution, and process capability analysis tests.
- Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
- Provide input to the various factory sponsored cycle time and quality improvement teams.
- Prepare product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Support product "stop ship" or “quality alert” meetings and work with cross‑functional teams to resolve and implement corrective actions.
- Product ownership from a quality standpoint with the goal to drive efficiency gains through quality improvements.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing professional networks.
- Lead resolution and reduction of any escaping customer quality issues.
- The candidate should have a solid understanding of advanced problem‑solving skills and experience implementing the same (DOE, statistical methods, etc).
- Root cause analysis of issues that could impact the quality of MSI products, using lean six sigma methodologies 8D’s, 5 Why’s, Pareto charts, Histograms, etc.
- Process Engineering with a lean manufacturing mindset
- Leadership, analyzing information, process improvement, developing standards, manufacturing methods and procedures, CAD, presenting technical information
- Packaging experience helpful
- Six Sigma exposure or experience preferred
Target Base Salary Range: $65,700 – $85,000
Basic Requirements- B.S. in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Systems or Manufacturing)
- Minimum of 6 months of applicable experience
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.
