We are a growing manufacturer of advanced automation equipment used in high-volume production environments. We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to support the development, testing, and implementation of electrical and motion control solutions that improve machine performance and customer productivity.
This position works closely with engineering, manufacturing, and customer support teams to deliver reliable automation systems from initial development through field implementation.
Primary Responsibilities- Design, evaluate, and improve electrical systems used in automated manufacturing equipment.
- Assist in the development and validation of motor, drive, controller, and motion control technologies.
- Configure, commission, and optimize servo-driven systems to achieve required performance and accuracy.
- Investigate electrical and controls-related issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective solutions.
- Provide technical guidance to customers, field service personnel, and internal departments regarding electrical products and system operation.
- Support the integration of new electrical components into existing product platforms while verifying compatibility and performance.
- Develop and maintain engineering documentation including wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, test procedures, and technical reports.
- Conduct laboratory testing using electrical diagnostic equipment to verify product functionality and reliability.
- Participate in new product development activities by providing engineering input during design reviews and prototype evaluations.
- Work with manufacturing to support production builds, resolve technical issues, and improve assembly processes.
- Ensure electrical designs meet applicable industry regulations and company quality standards.
- Assist with equipment installation, startup, and troubleshooting at customer facilities when required.
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in electrical engineering, industrial automation, robotics, mechatronics, or a related engineering field.
- Working knowledge of AC/DC motors, servo drives, motion control systems, and industrial automation equipment.
- Experience with programming languages such as C++, C#, or Python.
- Understanding of motion control principles, closed-loop control systems, and machine automation.
- Familiarity with industrial communication protocols including EtherCAT, Ether Net/IP, Modbus, or similar networks.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% within North America for equipment commissioning, customer support, troubleshooting, and technical training.
- Valid passport or ability to obtain one for occasional international travel as business needs require.
