Overview

Facilities Capital Engineer – lead facility operations and long‑term reliability engineering for JLL’s client portfolio. Focus on maintaining and improving mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire suppression systems; ensure compliance with NFPA, NEC, OSHA, and client standards while driving capital projects.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure all site infrastructure adheres to applicable codes and standards, conduct regular assessments, and implement corrective actions for continuous compliance.
  • Lead infrastructure planning and renewal programs for mechanical and electrical systems, developing capital plans that prioritize upgrades, replacements, and expansions based on condition assessments, lifecycle analysis, and business requirements.
  • Implement standard operating procedures for mechanical and electrical operations and maintenance activities; establish best practices that enhance system reliability and extend asset life cycles.
  • Identify and champion projects that optimize site capacity and infrastructure utilization; analyze current systems to uncover opportunities for efficiency improvements.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners—including engineers, contractors, and vendors—to execute infrastructure capital projects and ensure timely, satisfactory completion.
  • Support reliability engineering activities: failure analysis, equipment commissioning, repair‑versus‑replace evaluations, and maintenance queue management.
  • Track and report on program effectiveness; provide insights and recommendations to support strategic initiatives.
Qualifications
  • B.S. in Engineering (mechanical or electrical engineering preferred).
  • 5–10years of experience in facilities capital engineering, building engineering, or infrastructure engineering.
  • Working knowledge of NEC, NFPA, OSHA, and other relevant building codes and standards.
  • Experience with infrastructure planning, capital budgeting, and multi‑year renewal programs.
  • Experience developing and implementing maintenance procedures and operational standards.
  • Familiarity with critical/regulated environments (e.g., data centers, laboratories, manufacturing).
  • Extensive knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire suppression systems, and a variety of facility types.
  • Proficiency with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems and IT tools.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills for data manipulation and analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to make informed recommendations with incomplete data sets, balance stakeholder requirements, and translate organizational goals into service actions.

Compensation

Estimated compensation: $90,100 – $111,500 per year.
