About the FirmWe are representing a prestigious law firm’s Investment Management Group, which is seeking an associate to join its Chicago office. The firm has been a key player in major developments within the investment management space, advising on structuring, financing, operation, and regulation of investment companies, including closed‑end funds, mutual funds, ETFs, and BDCs.
Requirements- 3–4 years of experience in investment management law, specifically related to 1940 Act registered funds or business development companies.
- High level of academic achievement.
- Experience in a peer law firm’s investment management group is preferred.
- Strong communication skills, with a focus on client service and teamwork.
- Work on regulatory advice for investment companies, including structuring, offerings, and operational strategies.
- Collaborate with M&A colleagues on asset manager M&A transactions.
- Participate in an enhanced mentor program aimed at providing support during professional transitions.
