Note:
This is NOT a corporate accounting, general accounting, or traditional FP&A role. The successful candidate must have hands-on plant level (not corporate) accounting, financial analysis, cost control, inventory, budgeting, internal controls, and manufacturing plant-level financial support experience. Candidates who have not worked at the manufacturing plant level closely with manufacturing operations, plant leadership, production cost drivers, inventory, variances, and factory performance reporting are not the right fit for this role.
Candidates LOCAL to the Greater Chicago area will be given priority. Candidates from outside of the Greater Chicago area may be considered at a later date.
A Bachelor's degree in Financial Accounting, Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field is required.
- Must have at least 2 years of experience working as a Plant Financial Controller, Assistant Plant Financial Controller, Manufacturing Financial Controller, Cost Accounting Manager, or in a closely related plant accounting or manufacturing finance role. This is an ABSOLUTE MUST.
- Must have hands-on experience supporting financials in a manufacturing plant or production-oriented operating environment, including exposure to plant financial performance, cost drivers, manufacturing variances, labor, materials, inventory, departmental spending, and operating results.
- Must have experience generating, maintaining, reviewing, or supporting manufacturing financial budgets, including direct labor, material yields, operating outputs, and departmental spending.
- Must have experience reviewing plant financial operational performance reports and providing comments, recommendations, corrective actions, or financial insights to plant leadership or senior leadership.
- Must have experience with financial month-end close responsibilities in a plant, manufacturing, operational accounting, or related financial environment.
- Must have experience finding opportunities for cost reduction, cost control, and financial improvement across factory or product cost pools, including materials, labor, variable expenses, fixed expenses, capital, and inventory.
- Must have experience working with inventory, inventory valuation, inventory adjustments, or inventory-related accounting controls.
- Must have knowledge of internal controls, accounting policies, accounting practices, and proper control over factory or operational assets.
- Must have experience working with Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Must have strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to work with plant leadership, finance leadership, operations teams, and senior leadership.
- Must have experience working with or around Good Manufacturing Practices, commonly referred to as GMP.
