Peoples National Bank of Kewanee (PNB) is a long-standing, community-focused financial institution serving Central Illinois. We opened our doors on March 1, 1928, and for more than 90 years have proudly served the people of Kewanee and surrounding communities.

We are currently seeking a Full-Time Bank Teller/CSR to join our team at our Annawan location.

What Will a Bank Teller/CSR Do?

The Bank Teller/CSR serves as the first point of contact for many of our customers and plays a critical role in delivering exceptional service.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Accurately processing customer transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, payments, and transfers
  • Balancing a cash drawer daily with accuracy and efficiency
  • Assist customers with questions, requests, and concerns in a courteous, timely, and professional manner
  • Providing outstanding customer service by maintaining a friendly, professional, and courteous demeanor at all times
  • Answering telephone calls promptly and professionally
  • Learning, understanding, and following all retail banking policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance
  • Maintaining strict confidentiality of customer and bank information
  • Assisting with assignments or projects as needed to ensure adequate staffing and smooth branch operations, including possible travel to other branch locations
  • Performing other duties as assigned
  • Account Types

    Deposit Account (DDA) Types: Regular, Student, Senior Citizen, Money Market (MM), PeP, Value, Extra Value, Extra Value Plus, NOW, Super NOW

    Savings Account Types: Regular Savings, Christmas Club, Certificate of Deposit (CD), Health Savings Account (HSA)

    Retirement Accounts: Traditional IRA, Roth IRA, Keogh

    Additional Products & Services: ATM cards, Debit cards, Online Banking, Mobile Banking, Direct Deposit, Priority Plus, Trust Accounts, Estates, and IOLTAs

    Experience, Education, and Qualifications
    • High school diploma or equivalent required
    • Previous banking experience preferred
    • Cash handling experience required
    • Retail or sales experience strongly preferred
    • Ability to successfully complete any required background checks or regulatory screenings
    Skills and Competencies Needed
    • Proven customer service skills with a customer-first mindset
    • Strong computer and technology skills
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Strong aptitude for math and numerical accuracy
    • Attention to detail with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment
    • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
    Work Environment &

    Physical Requirements
    • Most duties are performed in a climate-controlled office environment
    • May be exposed to hot or cold weather conditions when traveling between branch locations
    • Prolonged periods of standing or sitting may be required
    • Must be able to handle cash, use standard office equipment, and perform repetitive tasks with accuracy
