Senior Accountant

A growing, mid-market property & casualty insurance platform is building out its accounting function under new executive leadership. This is an opportunity to step into a team being intentionally rebuilt, adding true insurance accounting depth, tightening processes, and creating a clear path to leadership.

If you have P&C accounting + statutory experience and want to be part of a team that is being elevated under a well-liked and respected Controller, this is worth a look.

• Own general ledger activity, reconciliations, and month-end close
• Support statutory reporting and insurance compliance
• Partner cross-functionally (including reinsurance and finance teams)
• Identify and implement process improvements across close and reporting

• P&C insurance accounting experience (required)
• Exposure to both GAAP and statutory reporting
• ~3+ years relevant experience
• Bachelor’s in Accounting (preferred)
• CPA (preferred, not required)
• Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools (GP / similar preferred)
• Comfortable in a build / stabilize environment
• Hybrid (1–3 days in office; flexible based on location)
• Office in the western suburbs of Chicago
• High degree of flexibility and autonomy
• $75K–$95K +~5% bonus
