Foresight Bank is the largest, locally owned community bank in Northern Illinois, with fifteen offices in the counties of Winnebago, Stephenson and Kankakee. Foresight Bank is owned by Foresight Financial Group, Inc., an Illinois corporation founded in 1986, a financial holding company established under the Federal Reserve.

Position Summary:

Foresight Bank is seeking a Senior Credit Officer to provide leadership across credit administration, loan origination system governance, portfolio risk oversight, credit approval support, and credit process improvement. This role will serve as a key partner to the Chief Credit Officer and will work closely with lending, credit, loan operations, risk, compliance, audit, IT, and vendor partners to strengthen credit discipline, improve lending workflow consistency, and support timely, sound credit decisions.

Foresight Bank is investing in a new Loan Origination System (“LOS”) to modernize the way loans move through the organization. This position will be the primary business owner for the LOS and will help ensure the platform supports credit policy, approval authority, underwriting quality, portfolio monitoring, data integrity, reporting, and accountability across the lending process.

During the first year, the role will place significant focus on LOS implementation, including workflow design, configuration, testing, training support, change management, vendor coordination, user adoption, go‑live readiness, and post‑go‑live stabilization.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead credit administration, credit operations, portfolio monitoring, management reporting, and process improvement activities.
  • Serve as the business owner for the Bank’s LOS, including workflow governance, user access, reporting, release management, testing, controls, data integrity, vendor coordination, and enhancement prioritization.
  • Provide senior credit guidance to lenders, analysts, and credit administration personnel on underwriting standards, credit structure, risk identification, exception management, approval workflow, and documentation expectations.
  • Develop and maintain LOS dashboards, pipeline reporting, service level monitoring, exception tracking, productivity metrics, and portfolio risk reporting.
  • Support Board and executive management reporting by providing accurate, timely, and meaningful credit risk and portfolio performance information.
  • Assist with problem loan management, CECL impairment support, portfolio reviews, audit and exam requests, credit policy updates, and assigned credit initiatives.
  • Provide underwriting overflow support during peak volume periods or staffing constraints.
  • Review and approve real estate valuations when assigned.
  • Review, recommend, and approve credit requests within assigned authority, ensuring sound analysis, appropriate structure, policy compliance, accurate risk ratings, and clear documentation.
  • Provide coaching, guidance, workload coordination, and leadership support to assigned credit team members as needed.
