Sherman Hospital Elgin, IL Level 2 Trauma EMS Educator
- E.D. RN (1 year minimum) or EMT-P (3 years minimum)
- Part Time
- 20 Hours a Week
- Typically 8 hour shifts
- Primary days, with occasional weekend and evening as needed
Assists with developing, conducting and supervising education for pre-hospital and hospital personnel. Assists with Coordination of Continuing Education at Advocate Sherman Hospital.
Attends and participates in multiple EMS system and hospital meetings including Liaison.
E.D. RN (1 year minimum) or EMT-P (3 years minimum).
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Requiredeffective communication skills ability to promote good relationships between the hospital and the EMS providers ability to use
A. V. equipment basic presentation skills Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Products
Current RN licensure in State of Illinois or EMT-P. ECRN ACLS BLS PALS TNS
Physical Requirements and Working Conditionsability to work some weekends and different shifts to accommodate classes or exams always on-call via pager or cell phone for problems or questions possible exposure to adverse or unpleasant patient conditions may be exposed to hazardous materials consistently travels to other hospital and area fire departments for classes and meetings ability to lift and move patients ability to work under stressful and in difficult situations ability to accompany EMS personnel on ambulance calls whenever necessary to evaluate patient care
