Scheduling Clerks are responsible and accountable for the scheduling of procedures, pre‑registration of patients and checking medical necessity of procedures as required. Acts as a liaison between patients and Health Center staff and works to resolve problems. Provides support to the patient services area.

Shift: 8:30am – 5:00pm
Required:
High School diploma
Pay: based on experience, starting at $17.79 an hour; estimated range $17.79 – $27.57 per hour.
Responsibilities- Acts as a productive/professional member of the central scheduling/patient services team.
- Any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
- Contacts no show to reschedule appointments.
- Creates authorization referrals as required when scheduling patient appointments.
- Demonstrates appropriate customer service behaviors by a positive attitude and a willingness to facilitate scheduling team function.
- Maintains a safe and neat work environment.
- Obtains physician's written orders and ensures orders match scheduled procedures.
- Obtains current patient demographics and insurance benefits for the Health System.
- Pre‑registers patients at the time of scheduling and checks medical necessity of procedure as required.
- Provides support to patient services and assists with registration and transporting patients as required.
- Remains current on new construction, new physicians, and events within the Health System.
- Remains current on new procedures performed by ancillary departments including the preparatory instructions and scheduling restrictions.
- Serves as a customer service representative and acts as a liaison among patient, family, staff, and medical staff. Initiates problem resolution as needed.
- Works closely with the ancillary departments and radiologists to ensure proper scheduling of procedures.
- High School diploma (Required)
