Job Description About the RoleThe Lead Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) plays a pivotal role in overseeing and enhancing the delivery of applied behavior analysis (ABA) services within a clinical or educational setting. This position is responsible for leading a team of RBTs, ensuring high-quality implementation of behavior intervention plans, and maintaining compliance with ethical and professional standards. The Lead RBT collaborates closely with Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) to monitor client progress, provide training and mentorship to staff, and contribute to continuous program improvement.
This role demands strong leadership, communication, and clinical skills to effectively support both clients and team members. Ultimately, the Lead RBT ensures that therapeutic goals are met efficiently while fostering a positive and supportive environment for clients and staff alike.
- Current certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) in good standing.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience providing ABA therapy to individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Demonstrated ability to collect and analyze behavioral data accurately.
- Strong understanding of ABA principles and behavior intervention techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in a leadership or supervisory role within an ABA service setting.
- Completion of additional training or coursework related to behavior analysis or clinical supervision.
- Familiarity with electronic data collection systems and clinical documentation software.
- Experience working with diverse populations and multidisciplinary teams.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
- Supervise and mentor a team of RBTs, providing guidance on clinical best practices and professional development.
- Implement and monitor individualized behavior intervention plans under the supervision of BCBAs.
- Collect, analyze, and report data on client progress to inform treatment adjustments.
- Facilitate training sessions and ongoing education for RBT staff to maintain high standards of care.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including families and other professionals, to ensure comprehensive client support.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory, ethical, and organizational policies related to ABA services.
- Assist in scheduling, documentation, and administrative tasks to support smooth clinical operations.
The Lead RBT utilizes their expertise in ABA principles daily to guide and support their team in delivering effective interventions tailored to each client’s needs. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential for mentoring staff, facilitating training, and collaborating with families and professionals to ensure cohesive care. Analytical skills are applied when reviewing behavioral data to assess client progress and recommend treatment modifications.
