CT TECH-PRN

CT Technologist (PRN) is responsible for producing diagnostic images for interpretation by the radiologist. The employee should have knowledge regarding equipment utilization and be able to adjust technique and patient positioning for high quality images.

Hours: PRN (As Needed)

Compensation: Starting at $32.10, based on experience.

• Accurate image identification.
• Assures accuracy and high quality images.
• Completes continuing education on CT specific safety annually.
• Obtains proper consent for procedures.
• Performs CT exams by setting, adjusting, manipulating, and controlling a variety of complex electronic equipment.
• Performs intravenous injection of contrast media products under guidance of the radiologist.
• Provides proper documentation in patient chart of radiation dose and contrast use.
• Remains current regarding knowledge of Creatinine & GFR levels to aid in determining the use of contrast. Understands criteria, normal vs. elevated levels, protocols to follow for abnormal levels, and consults with physician or nurse as appropriate.
• Utilizes PACS and HIS system to archive and record patient data.
• Utilizes proper radiation safety techniques to scan patients and provide excellent quality at minimal dose.

• Associate's Degree (Required)
• ARRT-CT (Computed Tomography) within 1 year of hire
• ARRT-R (Radiography) within 1 year of hire
• BLS or CPR certification within 90 days of hire
• IEMA – Illinois Emergency Management Agency – State of Illinois (within 1 year of hire)
