Description
POSITION TITLE:
CLINICAL RECEPTIONIST
PROGRAM: COMMUNITY HEALTH
RESPONSIBLE TO: DIRECTOR OF COMMUNITY HEALTH
EMPLOYMENT: FULL TIME AT 40 HOURS PER WEEK
SALARY: $16.50-$17.50
Required Education & Experience- High school graduate/GED
- Minimum one-year basic medical office experience
- CPR certified
- One to two years of experience in public health/medical office
- A valid driver’s license.
- A personal vehicle to carry out required duties when other means of transportation are not available.
- Auto liability insurance.
- Responsible for reception area flow, including but not limited to, answering phones, scheduling appointments, and collecting accurate patient demographic data in a timely manner.
- Responsible for collecting appropriate fees according to the program, current insurance information, and keeping records current in the computer.
- Works collaboratively with other members of the clinical team.
- Maintains patient confidentiality in all aspects of duties. Assures all patient/client records are secure.
- Maintains a neat appearance of work area, reception area, and conducts light housekeeping of front desk area as needed.
- Provides age-specific and individualized services for patients with respect to cultural diversity among patients.
- Provides superior customer service by consistently following through to ensure patient satisfaction. Works pro-actively to identify and resolve patient concerns.
- Ensures all documentation is accurate and complete.
- Makes appointments for all programs, including Family Planning, CHSP, Immunizations, TB, STI, etc.
- Maintains, prepares, and files charts for Family Planning and enters data into Ahlers.
- Provides daily Quality Assurance on the CHSP program to ensure information is documented correctly and reports the findings to the director.
- Provides monthly Quality Assurance on Quest billing reports and reports findings to the Director.
- Schedules flu clinics with outside organizations and handles billing/payments.
- Provide and maintain monthly reports of specific program numbers.
- Serve as Vital Records Coordinator.
- Maintains CPR certification.
- Abides by and maintains the health department HIPPA and privacy policies.
- Adheres to all internal SCHD policies and procedures.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned.
- Travel may be required as needed.
- Knowledge of public health
- Effective communication skills with clients, staff, medical providers, other professionals and members of the public.
- Detailed knowledge of office clerical practices and procedures, including business English, spelling, and arithmetic.
- Must be self-motivated and deal well with people.
- Fluency in Microsoft 365 (including Word and Excel). Special consideration given for those with experience in EMR and AHLERS.
- Ability to express oneself clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to promote and maintain professional relationships among staff through leadership, team building, and motivational skills.
