Job Description
Be a part of a world-class academic health-care system at University of Chicago Medicine as a Breast Imaging Coordinator in the Radiology Department. Here, you will facilitate the smooth transition for patients needing diagnostic imaging, biopsy procedures and communicate with the breast center Intake Coordinators under the direction of the Radiologists, Mammography Lead Technologist and Breast Imaging Manager. This role also includes BIRADS tracking for compliance with the Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) and preparation for annual inspection This position is a 100% onsite opportunity.
You will need to be based in the greater Chicagoland area.
- Facilitates patient breast diagnostic imaging scheduling and access with a focus on PRIDE values and patient safety.
- Coordinates breast imaging follow up care working closely with referring physicians, radiologists, and breast surgeons.
- Navigates patients between screening, diagnostic imaging and biopsy to ensure timeliness of care, including obtaining necessary images from outside organizations.
- Identify strategies to make navigator referrals systematic for breast imaging patients
- Tracks patient populations to ensure compliance with follow up recommendations and quality assurance procedures in accordance with FDA/MQSA guidelines.
- Assists with data management required for breast center of excellence specifications.
- Maintains open and positive communication with staff, physicians, and other departments.
- Promotes professionalism with the department, hospital, and community; acts as a role model.
- Maintains confidentiality regarding all patient/personnel information
- High school graduate or equivalency required
- Knowledge regarding insurance/billing
- Strong ability to multi-task.
- Prior knowledge of BIRADS and management of MQSA information preferred

In this role, we anticipate that you will generally work approximately 40 hours per week. We anticipate that you will generally be scheduled to work a day shift and will not be scheduled for on-call shifts. We anticipate you will generally be scheduled to work 100% at the Hyde Park campus. The days of the week that you are scheduled will be Monday-Friday.

The pay range provided reflects the anticipated wage or salary reasonably expected to be offered for the position. The pay range is based on a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) and is reflective of current market data, reviewed on an annual basis. Compensation offered at the time of hire will vary based on candidate qualifications and experience and organizational considerations, such as internal equity.
