Crescent Care of Elgin is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join their team. The CNA assists patients/residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, eating, grooming, toileting, and exercising.

• Under direction of the Director of Nursing or CNA Supervisor, work closely with nursing staff to ensure coordination of patient care.
• Provide physical support for patients/resident’s daily activities and personal hygiene, including bathing, dressing, grooming, transferring to/from bed, toileting, walking, standing, or exercising.
• Turn and reposition bedridden patients.
• Ensure proper resident/patient diet based on dietary restrictions.
• Measure and record food and liquid intake.
• Examine patients for open wounds, bruises, or blood in urine.
• Note and communicate patient/resident behavior and changes in mood.
• Gather medical supplies.
• Clean rooms and bed linens.
• Check and record vital signs under supervision of licensed nurse.
• Answer patient calls and needs.
• May aide patients being transported to and from appointments.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

• Good collaboration and teamwork skills with nursing staff.
• Familiarity with symptoms and signs of improvement for a number of medical conditions.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Meet all health requirements.
• Ability to relate positively, effectively, and appropriately with residents, families, community members, volunteers and other facility staff.
• Demonstrate basic computer knowledge and aptitude to learn company applications.

• High School Diploma or GED.
• State Certified Nursing Assistant License/Certification.
• Current CPR certificate or become certified within 90 days of employment preferred.

• Walking, reaching, bending, lifting, extended sitting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling, ability to distinguish smells and temperatures, all with or without aid.
• Limited potential for exposure to environmental hazards; understanding and adherence to company safety standards and protocols required.
• Must be able to push, pull, move and/or lift at least 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet.
• May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.
