Role Description

The Medical Office Receptionist is a full-time, on-site role located in Elgin, IL. This position is responsible for greeting patients, answering and directing phone calls, and managing the front desk in a professional and courteous manner. Daily tasks include scheduling and confirming appointments, checking patients in and out, updating demographics, and verifying insurance information. The receptionist coordinates with clinical and billing staff, processes necessary forms, and maintains organized patient records.

This role also involves handling patient inquiries, managing incoming and outgoing correspondence, and supporting day-to-day office operations to ensure a smooth patient experience.

Qualifications
  • Strong Phone Etiquette skills, including answering calls professionally, routing inquiries, and providing clear information.
  • Experience with Appointment Scheduling and calendar management in a medical or healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of Receptionist Duties in a Medical Office, such as patient check-in/out, registration, and front desk organization.
  • Ability to perform Insurance Verification, including confirming coverage, copays, and obtaining necessary authorizations.
  • Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare environment required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on patient service and confidentiality.
  • Proficiency with basic computer applications and electronic health record (EHR) systems is an advantage.
  • Strong attention to detail, reliability, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training in medical office administration is a plus.
