Position: Travel Interventional Radiology Technologist - $3,206 per week

Position Summary

Job Title: Travel Interventional Radiology Technologist

Location: Elgin, Illinois

12‑week travel assignment at a Level II Trauma Center with Magnet designation and Primary Stroke Center status. 40 hours per week on an 8‑hour day shift schedule.

Responsibilities
  • Provide interventional radiology, cardiac catheterization, EP, hybrid, and IR support spanning diagnostic and interventional procedures.
  • Perform patient preparation, circulate, sedate, interpret cardiac rhythm, and monitor hemodynamics.
  • Set up and operate equipment for Impella, balloon pumps, thrombolysis (EKOS), chest tubes, kyphoplasty, vertebroplasty, paracentesis, thoracentesis, CT/RFA ablations, g‑tube, PICC, tunneled catheter, nephrostomy, dialysis graft, and drain placements.
  • Maintain a 1:1 patient ratio, handling intra‑procedural activities only.
  • Collaborate with charge nurse, 24/7 RT, hospitalist, cardiologist, and code teams; transportation provided for IR patients.
  • Use EPIC charting system, Merge hemodynamic, Client Cardio (EP), and Siemens equipment.
  • Complete 12 hours of orientation and comply with call schedule, including weekend rotation (Friday 4‑pm to Monday 8‑am) and 10–11 call shifts per month with a 30‑minute response time.
  • No sleep rooms; holiday coverage of 1–2 call days per contract.
Qualifications
  • Registered Nurse (RN) OR Radiologic Technologist (RT) with a minimum of 2 years in cath lab or IR procedures.
  • RN certifications: BLS, ACLS.
  • RT certifications: IEMA (Illinois license), ARRT, BLS, ACLS.
  • Proficiency in both modalities preferred; cross‑trained RN and RT acceptable.
  • Ability to scrub and pan simultaneously and monitor hemodynamics.
  • Fluency with EPIC and related clinical software.
  • Valid Illinois license; first‑time travelers not accepted (unless stated otherwise).
Compensation and Benefits

Pay package based on 8‑hour shifts and 40 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax‑free stipend amount to be determined. Free parking is provided.

Shift Details: 8‑hour day shift (40 hours per week). On‑call begins at 4‑pm, ends at 8‑am the following day. Minimum 2 weekends a month and 1–2 additional call days per week.
