Labor and Employee Relations Specialist (Temporary) Position Summary

MGT is looking to place a Labor and Employee Relations Specialist to provide professional human resources support to the Employee and Labor Relations function during a temporary staffing need at Lake County, IL. This position will work onsite and serve as a key resource in addressing employee relations matters, conducting workplace investigations, interpreting personnel policies, and supporting day-to-day labor and employee relations activities.

This assignment is intended to provide coverage during an intermittent employee leave and is expected to last several months. The successful candidate must be available to begin as soon as possible and work full-time onsite in Waukegan, Illinois.

• Provide employee and labor relations support to management and staff.
• Respond to employee complaints and workplace concerns.
• Conduct and document workplace investigations.
• Assist with reviewing, interpreting, and applying personnel policies, procedures, and employment practices.
• Advise supervisors and managers on employee relations issues and appropriate corrective actions.
• Prepare reports, correspondence, and documentation related to investigations and employee matters.
• Maintain confidential employee records and information.
• Support the Human Resources team with special projects and other related duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
• Experience in employee relations, labor relations, human resources, investigations, or a related field.
• Knowledge of employment laws, workplace investigations, and employee relations best practices preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Temporary full-time assignment.
• Onsite position located in Waukegan, Illinois.
• Intended to provide coverage during an employee medical leave.
• Assignment expected to last several months.
• Immediate availability strongly preferred.

The pay for this contracted position is $45-$50 per hour, depending on experience. MGT employee benefits include up to a 5% match for 401(k) retirement plan, a comprehensive medical/health benefits package, and PTO/holiday pay.
