Function/Position Summary

Responsible for providing expert, continuous support for employee benefit and retirement systems.

This includestheresolutionofinquiriesregarding

Teachers Retirement System (TRS),Illinois Municipal Retirement  Fund (IMRF), 403(b) and 457(b) plans, Social Security, Medicare and all associated pension benefits.

Job Duties/ Responsibilities

  • Conductindividualretirementcounselingsessionsforemployees.
  • Calculateandprocessdistrict-paidretirementincentives,bonuses,and enhancements.
  • Coordinateanddeliverretirementeducationsessionsandinformationalmaterials.
  • Maintainandupdateemployeeenrollment,termination,andstatuschangeswithinIMRFandTRS systems.
  • Analyze,audit,andmanagepension-relateddatawithinthepayrollsystem.
  • Processemployeeretirementswithinthepayrollsystemandensureaccuratefinalpayandbenefit handling.
  • AuditIMRFandTRSrecordstoensurepropertierclassification,eligibility,and compliance.
  • Collaborate across Human Resources ,Benefits,and Payrolldepartmentstomanageretirement, insurance benefits, and pension programs accurately.
  • Coordinate
    403(b) and
    457(b) retirementsavingsplanswiththird-partyadministrator(TPA) and employees.
  • Processandreconcileall
    403(b),457(b),SSP,andVACpayrolldeductionsandremittances.
  • Processandtrackall
    403(b) and
    457(b) withdrawalrequests,ensuringtimelyhandlingandcoordination with both legacy and current vendors.
  • ManagedatafiletransferstoTPAandcoordinatetimelyfundingwith Financial Services .
  • Prepareandanalyzereportstosupportcompliance,audits,andstrategicplanning.
  • Assistwithretirementrecognitionprogramsandrelatedevents.
  • Administerenrollment,billing,andlifeinsuranceprogramsforthe

    Association of Elgin School  Administrators (AESA).
  • Maintaincompliancewithapplicablefederal,state,andlocalregulationsrelatedtoretirementand payroll.
  • Performotherdutiesasassigned.

Education

  • Bachelor'sdegreein

    Finance,Business Administration,Human Resources,orarelatedfieldpreferred.

Experience/ Knowledge

  • Minimumoffive yearsofexperiencein

    Human

    Resources,Payroll,or Financial

    Services.
  • Experienceadministeringpublicsectorretirementsystemsstronglypreferred.
  • Proficiencywithpayrollsystems(e.g.,Munis,Skyward,orsimilarplatforms).
  • Advancedproficiencyin Microsoft Excel (e.g.,pivottables,VLOOKUP) andstrongworkingknowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
  • Understandingofpayrollprocesses,including,pre-andpost-taxdeductions.
  • Knowledge of Illinoispublicpensionsystems,includingTRSandIMRF.
  • Abilitytomanagemultipleprioritiesandmeetstrict deadlines.
  • Strong analytical,problem-solving,andorganizationalskills.
  • Excellentwrittenandverbalcommunicationskills.
  • Highlevelofaccuracyandattentiontodetail.
  • Abilitytomaintainconfidentialityofsensitiveemployeeinformation.
  • Abilitytoworkindependentlyandmanageprojectsthroughcompletion.

  • The salary range for this position is $54,752.00 - $82,139.00. Our typical practice is to hire in between the minimum and midpoint $68,446.00.
