Description Midera Food Processing is looking for a HR Manager to support
Description Midera Food Processing is looking for a HR Manager to support CV-Tek in Elgin, IL. This role is responsible for a wide range of HR functions, including recruiting, onboarding, benefits administration, employee relations, performance management, and administration of safety programs. In addition to core HR responsibilities, this position will assist with general administrative support and ensure alignment with corporate HR initiatives and company-wide objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with plant leadership to implement initiatives aimed at improving employee engagement, retention, and workplace culture across all assigned sites.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations (FMLA, FLSA, ADA, etc.) and corporate policies.
- Lead full-cycle recruitment for hourly production, skilled trades, and professional/technical roles, ensuring a steady pipeline for multiple facilities.
- Manage benefits administration, process payroll, audit timekeeping records, and keep HRIS data up to date.
- Standardize and facilitate new hire orientation programs to ensure consistency in training and culture integration across the region.
- Manage Third-Party Service (TPS) relationships effectively to ensure delivery.
- Provide expert counsel to site managers and employees on sensitive relations issues, ensuring consistent and fair application of policies across different locations.
- Serve as the point of contact for complex inquiries regarding benefits and policies.
- Maintain accurate employee records and oversee HRIS data entry. Conduct timekeeping audits and process payroll.
- Compile and analyze HR metrics (turnover, absenteeism, labor costs) to provide actionable insights to executive leadership.
- Administer safety programs and assist with corporate-driven audits, policy rollouts, and safety initiatives to maintain a Safety First culture.

- Minimum 6-8 years of progressive HR experience, being on-site and hands-on with internal customers.
- At least 3 years of experience leading the HR function specifically within a Manufacturing environment.
- Minimum 3 years of experience recruiting skilled manufacturing labor and technical/engineering staff.
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Solid, up-to-date understanding of employment laws and HR best practices
- Experience maintaining positive union-free environments.
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is highly preferred.
- PHR or SPHR certification.
