The Employee Relations Specialist position at the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity supports agency leadership in managing complex employee and labor relations matters, conducting workplace investigations, and developing training programs. This role partners with HR management to maintain compliance with collective bargaining agreements, support employee engagement initiatives, and strengthen organizational culture.
Key qualifications- Four years of college coursework in public administration, labor relations, or human resources
- Two years of professional human resources experience
- Experience with collective bargaining agreements, grievance procedures, and labor relations principles
- Experience researching and interpreting employment-related policies, rules, and regulations
- Experience preparing and conducting training courses for adult learners
