Job Description
The Solutions System Specialist reports to the System Specialist Senior Manager and is responsible for all Solutions delivery activities. The System Specialist should have a strong technical background and experience leading technology delivery. The role requires excellent communication skills to engage both technical resources and customers using understandable terms. The Specialist implements strategic initiatives and promotes continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities- Understanding the technical requirements, concepts of operation, and architecture of the overall solution.
- Leading the project's technical and program discussions.
- Building and maintaining effective, mutually beneficial alliances with customers.
- Applying change management and systems engineering processes, working with customers and engineering teams to implement solutions including third-party applications.
- Collaborating with other resource managers to plan project deliverables.
- Acting as the design authority for the Solutions the Platform team supports.
- Participating in development of process and procedures.
- Assisting Project Management in cost and schedule management by identifying technical risks and recommending mitigation options.
- Driving process improvement and best practices.
- Serving as the technical counterpart to the Project Manager for third-party, customer, and internal meetings.
- Initiating problem‑solving actions and following through to resolution.
- Performing root‑cause analysis for problems and recommending operational improvements.
- Suggesting system and/or process improvements when applicable.
- Running diagnostics using approved MSI tools.
- Providing system performance reports using approved MSI tools upon request.
- Understanding system dependencies and related connections.
- Maintaining subject matter expert skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- At least 5+ years of experience in Public Safety application deployment, integration, operations, and administration.
- Experience in Public Safety, Business Analysis, Field Service, CAD, Record Management Systems, or Jail Applications.
- Self‑motivated team player able to work effectively with general guidance toward objectives.
- Experience in design and implementation of complex systems, including integration with third‑party products and services.
- Knowledge of Public Safety operating environments and familiarity with next‑generation Public Safety trends and standards.
- Working knowledge of:
- Server Virtualization (VMWare, Open Shift)
- Database Servers (Microsoft SQL Server)
- Networking (TCP/IP protocols)
- Experience leading highly complex projects.
- Excellent presentation and critical‑thinking skills for decision making, troubleshooting, and mitigation strategy development.
- Ability to work collaboratively with all team members.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely required.
- Must obtain background clearance as required by the government customer.
- Ability to pass a stringent fingerprint background check governed by DOJ CJIS Security Policy.
- 5+ years experience in Public Safety application deployment, integration, and/or operations and administration.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely.
- Must obtain background clearance as required by government customer.
Target Base Salary Range: $100,000 - $120,000 USD. Pay within this range varies and depends on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate.
Travel Requirements25-50% travel.
