Primary Purpose

The Packaging Replenishment Planner manages, monitors, and plans the packaging material needs to support the daily/weekly finished good production schedule to produce the right amount of product, at the right cost, at the right time and in the right location. This role assists in all supply planning duties including development of timely replenishment plans, analyzing inventory levels, entering stock transfers into ERP system, and leading efforts to reduce excess inventory and cost.

To succeed in this role the ideal candidate should possess excellent communication skills, demonstrate the ability to identify both problems and solutions, be adept to detail, and strive for continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Develop daily and weekly packaging replenishment schedules to maintain packaging stocking levels for production plants adhering to targeted inventory levels and warehouse capacity requirements while meeting/exceeding assigned KPIs.
  • Develop daily and weekly material replenishment/purchase plan based on targeted inventory levels, production plans, and orders to fulfill customer orders while meeting/exceeding targeted Fill Rate.
  • Execute the deployment/stock transfer of goods from 3PL locations and utilize stock balancing activities to increase turns and support the On-Time-In-Full (OTIF) metrics.
  • Minimize excess and obsolete inventory by analyzing inventory levels and identifying any areas of risk; communicate risks in a timely manner to appropriate members of the SC team/organization.
  • Leverage intelligence from internal business partners to assess production risks and elevate concerns to management.
  • Investigate any inventory or data issues by performing a root cause analysis to prevent chronic issues.
  • Support new product development initiatives by providing feedback regarding anticipated availability dates, volumes, or constraints.
  • Education, Qualities and Skills Required
    • Bachelor’s Degree (Supply Chain, Logistics, Mathematics/Statistics, Economics, Engineering, or related field of study).
    • 3+ years of experience in a Supply Planning role, preferably in food manufacturing.
    • APICS certificate a plus.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skillset.
    • Ability to retrieve, manipulate, analyze, and interpret information using tools such as Excel or Access.
    • Highly detail oriented.
    • Ability to prioritize and shift priorities as organizational demands change.
    • Ability to work independently.
    • Knowledge of supply planning and plant floor operations.
    • Strong written, interpersonal, and presentational skills.
    • Organizational skills.
    • Time management skills with ability to multi-task.
    • Supports organization’s desire for continuous improvement.
    • Demonstrates mastery of Supply Chain concepts.
    • Advanced proficiency in Excel.
    • Ability to work independently and in a team environment collaborating with internal and external partners.
    • Experience working in an ERP system (Microsoft GP or Sage X3 a plus).
    Supervisory Responsibility

    No direct supervision required.

    Work Environment

    Typical office working environment which includes a workstation equipped with a computer and other office supplies necessary for daily tasks. Typically climate-controlled to provide a comfortable working temperature year-round. Lighting is usually a mix of natural and artificial sources to ensure sufficient lamination.

    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

    This is a full-time salaried position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday. Expectations of 45 hours per week, to be worked during normal business hours.
