THE ROLEAt Wella, we want to be the best partner to salons. The Regional Sales Manager for the Midwest is responsible for leading, developing and recruiting a direct sales team that services professional beauty salons and schools throughout the Midwest. The Midwest team sells the full professional brand portfolio, including Wella Professionals, Nioxin, Sebastian, Clairol Professional, Color Charm, OPI and GHD.
The position requires significant customer interface, people leadership, and regional travel.
Accountable to lead the team to increase market share by prospecting and gaining new salon and school doors, as well as delivering business targets within a defined budget with existing customers. The regional sales manager will maximize the market’s education capacity through collaboration with the education team to ensure strategies are developed and executed with excellence. Demonstration of strong situational management skills and company stewardship is required to develop a high‑performing organization that is productive and continuously growing capabilities.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver KPIs: accountable to set and deliver monthly/quarterly/annual targets cascading from leadership to ensure the team meets/exceeds business and sales targets.
- Team Management: identify the capability and motivation of team members and tailor a management approach with an action plan for each individual.
- Coach team to develop sales mastery and implement protocols and standards.
- Operate with excellence: keep the team focused on priorities, track KPI’s, prioritize coaching sessions, lead area sales meetings, and role‑model by demonstrating leadership.
- Deliver results via HPO execution and building capabilities.
- Strategic Industry Relationships: develop and maintain strategic relationships with key stakeholders and industry decision makers (e.g., key salon accounts, guest artists, schools).
- Responsible for personal participation/leadership in industry associations.
- Represent Wella Company in professional industry forums in public, on-stage, and digitally through events, shows, programs, meetings, etc.
- Data and Report Management: develop territory, team and customer insights using data analytics and business reports to identify trends, forecast, and create productivity action plans. Customize reports, presentations and proposals for alignment with internal and external customers.

- 5+ years of outside sales experience with 3-5 years of sales team management.
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Strong leadership, analytical thinking, problem‑solving, initiative and follow‑through.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Results‑oriented self‑starter capable of independent work and focus on KPIs.
- Advanced computer skills—Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word);
