Area EHS Manager

Job Summary

The Area EHS Manager will be responsible for occupational health, safety, environmental and sustainability management for four locations in Illinois, Wisconsin, and Michigan.

This position will be based out of one of our locations in Elgin, IL or Romeoville, IL. The role requires 60-75% travel between the four Great Lakes region locations.

• Provide a consistent presence within the facilities and identify areas of improvement, presenting sustainable solutions to operational teams.
• Partner with area general managers to ensure ownership and engagement across all team members.
• Lead site EHS professionals and managers to integrate IPG EHS standards and expectations.
• Participate in operating plans, strategic planning, EHS initiatives, internal audits, management systems, compliance initiatives and governmental reporting.
• Supervise site‑based EHS professionals across the region.
• Assist with onboarding new EHS professionals and operational managers.
• Provide oversight on incident investigations, corrective plans and follow‑up actions to prevent recurrence.
• Advise local management on implementing, managing and auditing an innovative EHS Management System in manufacturing and construction settings.
• Monitor regional EHS metrics, compile reports, share trends, and drive a safety culture that is behavior‑driven.
• Manage workers’ compensation, general liability and automotive liability cases; coordinate claims with medical team, insurance provider and legal counsel.
• Promote best‑practice sharing and learning culture across the region.
• Set regional and site priorities and resourcing strategies in coordination with the Regional EHSS Director.
• Drive environmental compliance and support operational sustainability project roll‑outs and implementations.

• Bachelor’s degree in EHS, Science or Engineering related fields or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in EHS and/or manufacturing with EHS responsibility.
• Excellent communication skills to facilitate integration across functional departments.
• Expert knowledge of OSHA CFR 1910 regulations.
• Strong project and process management skills, with experience managing major projects and change initiatives.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and regulatory agency web content research.
• Nationally recognized safety and health certifications (ASP, CSP, CIH).
• Experience managing direct and/or indirect reports.

• Salary range: $100,000 - $125,000.
