LHH Recruitment Solutions has partnered with a growing organization, and they are seeking an experienced and dynamic Purchasing and Logistics Leader -- Chemical Manufacturing in Elgin, IL to oversee and optimize its procurement and logistics operations across the Americas region (US, Mexico, and Canada).Must have multi-country leadership experience, strong decision-making abilities, and chemical manufacturing industry experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Strategy: Lead and inspire a high-performing team, driving peak performance and fostering a culture of excellence.
- Procurement Management: Lead the procurement of chemicals, negotiating optimal terms in a highly competitive market.
- Supplier Management: Maintain contacts with strategic raw material suppliers, manage supply specifications, and finalize business relations with medium and long-term contracts.
- Supplier Evaluation: Select, classify, qualify, and audit suppliers, keeping the vendor list updated.
- Logistics Oversight: Lead the logistics operations, including the utilization of TMS for domestic logistics.
- Multi-Country Operations: Ensure efficient operations across multiple countries, including US, Canada, and Mexico.
- Executive Presentation: Present data and insights at the executive leadership table, representing the Purchasing and Logistics teams.
- Market Analysis: Evaluate market prices and quotations, considering quality and punctuality of deliveries.
- Travel: Open to up to 30% travel.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree required;
Master’s Degree preferred. - Experience: 7+ years of purchasing leadership experience. Experience managing a $400M+ spend.
- Industry Expertise: Experience in chemical manufacturing.
- Multi-Country Oversight: Previous experience managing multiple countries.
US, Mexico, and Canada preferred. - Skills: Proficient in MS Office and SAP. Strong decision-making skills with a proven track record.

Expertise in negotiating long-term contracts with safeguards against identified risks. - Analytical
Skills:
Ability to identify key performance measures and evaluate alternatives. - Leadership: Proven ability to build and lead teams, attaining cross-functional consensus.
- Communication: Excellent communication and presentation skills to present data and team performance to the executive leadership team.
Compensation Range: $175,000 - $200,000 + 20% Bonus
Relocation Assistance
:
Up to $20,000 offered to assist in relocation if needed. Must be willing to relocate to the Chicagoland area for this position.
