We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead daily operations at a fast‑paced manufacturing facility. This individual will oversee all plant functions to ensure safe, efficient, high‑quality production
, while driving operational excellence and continuous improvement.
You will provide direct leadership to multiple department managers and indirect support to large cross‑functional teams. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who thrives in an active plant environment—not someone who prefers to remain behind a desk.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee all daily production operations across the plant
- Lead and develop a team of 5 direct reports, including Production, Quality, Logistics, Inventory, and Sanitation leaders
- Manage approximately 70 indirect reports including technicians, operators, leads, and coordinators
- Conduct and lead production meetings 2–3 times per week
- Monitor and manage KPI performance, production costs, and operational metrics
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, GMPs, HACCP/SQF, and all regulatory and quality standards
- Champion safety initiatives and participate in plant audits
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and lead related projects
- Foster collaboration, accountability, and strong communication across all departments
- Support the implementation and utilization of ERP tools to track machine downtime and analyze operational data
- 5+ years of multi-department leadership experience in operations, production, plant management, general management, or similar roles
- Background in food manufacturing highly preferred; other highly regulated industries such as beverage, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, chemicals, or CPG considered
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA
, GMP
, audits, and food safety/regulatory standards (HACCP, SQF, etc.) - Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Business, Food Science, Engineering, or related field
- Demonstrated success in fast-paced environments with the ability to build trust, delegate effectively, and hold teams accountable
- Hands-on leadership style—comfortable spending significant time on the production floor
- Experience tracking and improving machine downtime, cost KPIs, and production metrics via ERP systems (Fishbowl experience a plus but not required)
- Bilingual in Spanish
