The Utility role supports efficient press operations by loading and operating the roll stand, auto splicer, and label applicators while maintaining consistent ink and glue levels. Responsibilities include logging inventory, preparing materials for upcoming jobs, assisting with setup and wash‑ups, and ensuring the line remains clean. The role requires adherence to safety guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures, along with active participation in the Pregis apprenticeship program to foster continuous improvement.

Ideal candidates are detail‑oriented, team players, and capable of working efficiently in a fast‑paced production environment.

Has ability to assist in the operation of multiple types of equipment according to all Standard Operating Procedures. Maintains quality standards and helps operate machine within acceptable levels for waste and productivity. Maintains consumables (paper, ink, water, etc.) during production.

• Load and operate roll stand and auto splicer efficiently.
• Log all rolls as required by Standard Operating Procedures and return leftover stock to inventory.
• Help maintain consistent viscosity and pH level of ink fountains when necessary.
• Maintain all glue levels as needed and monitor glue thickness.
• Maintain continuous operations of label applicators.
• Assist in M/R operations, setting up printer and gluers, etc., as instructed by operator.
• Assist in wash‑ups as instructed by operator.
• Assist in keeping line clean in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures and as instructed by Line Operator.
• Understand and demonstrate ability to accurately track press counts.
• Follow line production to get necessary supplies for next job ready before press shuts down, including paper, ink, plates, glue, and job instructions.
• Actively engage in Pregis apprenticeship program to ensure continuous improvement of self and company.
• Keep general area clean and free of debris and spills of any kind.

• Ability to effectively and respectfully communicate with team and during shift transition.
• Knowledgeable of safety requirements and guidelines in manufacturing/warehouse environment.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment, follow standardized work instructions and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement culture.

• Full time.
• Pay range: $20.00 - $24.00.
• 1st, 2nd and/or 3rd shift.
• Overtime expected per business demand.

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Five years of progressively responsible related experience.
